About Traveler's EdgeTraveler's Edge has been in business since 1994 in Garland, Texas. Traveler's Edge is a home based full service travel agency. Traveler's Edge is equipped with the SABRE reservation system.
Our office is open Monday through Friday. We're closed on Saturday and Sunday, however if you need us on the weekend, call and leave a message. If we can we will return your call and help you if we are available. We will be more than happy to make an appointment with you in the evening or on a Sunday, just let us know what works best for your schedule. We will continue to cater to your needs and wishes. Want an economical vacation, we'll help you find it. Want a five-star vacation of a lifetime, we'll do the research and make the contacts to find you what you're looking for. Working with our clients on a personal, one-on-one basis is extremely important to us. We can work with you in person at our office, at your home or office. We also work with our clients by phone, fax, mail and e-mail. Travel Agents & What We DoThere are many misconceptions about how a travel agent earns their money. The first one is you, the client, pays your Travel Agent for their services. NOT TRUE. Some Travel Agents charge their clients for everything; here at Traveler's Edge we are paid by most suppliers. When you book a tour, rent a car or take a cruise we get paid by the Tour Operator, the Car Rental Company or the Cruise Line. Since most of the Airline Carriers no longer pay any commission to Travel Agents, we charge $20 for each airline ticket. Another myth about Travel Agents is that we only do airline tickets and cruises. That is NOT TRUE. We can handle all of your travel needs. We book escorted tour packages, individual packages, car rentals and hotel accommodations all around the world. Travel Agency FeesFor comparison purposes, I have listed some of the main items that agencies do charge fees for. We have done an unbiased look at what other agencies in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex charges for these items and compared them to our fees. Yes, we are here to stay in business but we want you to feel you get a good value for your dollar.
In the past few years more and more travelers think they can find a better deal online. Whether it be at a Big Internet travel provider or just an Individual agency running a special. If you book online, be careful that you are getting what you want. Another agent recently told me that a client called from the airport, they had decided to purchase their tickets online, got to the airport and found out they booked San Jose, California instead of San Jose del Cabo, oops. Here at Traveler's Edge, we always strive to find what you are looking for. If it's lowest price, we look for that. If it's the best deal (whatever that means), we look for that. We believe our fees are fair and reasonable. We understand if you don't want to pay the fee for an airline ticket and if you are comfortable purchasing these online no problem.
